Hannah Megee

Hannah Megee is an illustrator, artist and writer from Devon, UK. After discovering a passion for narrative art on her Fine Art degree, she went on to complete a masters degree in Authorial Illustration at University College Falmouth.

On graduating from her MA, Hannah won a national illustration competition called Mythic Coast. Her prize was her first paid commission for a children’ book, The Sea Swallow, written by Gareth Thompson and published by Foxtail. 5000 copies of this book were given to primary school children in the local area. Hannah was also involved in designing a number of permanent public artworks for the project alongside sculptor Stephen Broadbent. One of these includes a ten-foot stone carving of her Sea Ogre character. In 2022 she worked alongside This Great Adventure on an augmented reality trail incorporating these artworks and new animations.

Hannah also illustrated two books for a literacy program published by Heinemann; The Exquisite Fish, an Ancient Chinese folk tale, and the terrifying Inuit fable The Qalupalik.

Having also worked as a commercial illustrator, Hannah has a wide and varied portfolio, and aside from book illustration has created work for literary anthologies, music releases, medical books and editorial. She is also a qualified teacher and has five years experience of teaching art, graphic design and photography.

Hannah also loves writing and is currently working on her first self-written graphic novel, Halfspace, and her debut children’s book, Picnic at the Pumpkin Patch.
